Victory at Central London County Court !

After 5 years of litigation , we settled a case at the court door on Monday . My client, a secondary school teacher , could not pursue his hobby of football refereeing and our case was that he may have gone on to do this professionally. A particular outrage was that the defendants raised dishonesty without any basis whatsover. Because there have been cases where dishonest claimants have lost and had to pay the defendants’ legal costs, the opposition are trying it on where they have no evidence for it in our opinion. This case is not the only one where we have experienced this.A great win for a completely honest cyclist with a lifelong knee...

Cycle to the Lane

Excited about meeting with George Parkinson of Spurs tomorrow am at the Spurs ground to discuss our campaign to ENABLE ,not encourage , Spurs fans to cycle to the new ground when it opens in September. We still retain our ambition to have hundreds of hire bikes outside Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale stations in time for the first home game. Will be talking to Ofo tomorrow after I meet with Spurs. They still need to agree terms with Haringey Council but nothing like the start of the new season to focus minds…  ...

Great wins for cyclists

We have celebrated several wins for cyclists at Cycle Legal in recent months, a settlement for a lady’s broken foot from a lorry turning left (ltl) after a long running denial ; a 25% win close to a liability only trial for a client who was accused by a witness of going on to the pedestrian refuge while crossing a junction; a mighty win on a severe brain injury case a week from a two day High Court trial where we went from a blank denial for 3 years , expert engineering evidence to look at bus cctv , a 75/25 offer in our favour, a 90/10 offer a month from trial and then eventually , they completely folded. Exhausting but so rewarding to win it for the client who, like so many head injured cyclists, cannot recall the accident. That case deserves an article on its own(!) of which more...

Cycle to the Lane

it’s exactly two years since i first suggested to Spurs that the way to tackle the transport nightmare awaiting them when they open their swanky new ground in August 2018 is to encourage their fans to cycle to the ground. Since then , dockless hire bikes have exploded in the capital making this idea even more feasible. Lots to work on in the next six...
